Natural Remedy to Kill Bacteria

May 2nd, 2008

1.jpgBacteria left untreated inside your mouth will cause gum diseases, toothache, bad breath and worst losing of teeth. Fortunately, there are natural remedies you can make to kill some if not all of these bacteria. Using herbs is one example and this formula would require 2 parts white oak bark herb, 1 part myrrh gum herb, ¾ part peppermint leaves, ½ part anise herb and a/8 part clove. All the herbs and leaves must be in powder form. Just mix everything and put in a container. What you will do is to use it just like how you will use your toothpaste. But you are not supposed to rinse them immediately to keep the active herb powders in your mouth.

Do you know that baking soda can do good for your teeth? Yes it does! A lot of people are unaware that baking soda has mild abrasive properties that can aid in getting rid of plaque. It can also neutralize the acidity produced by bacterial wastes in the mouth, serve as an effective deodorizer and give your teeth a gleaming polish! Isn’t that great? For best results, mix baking soda with a small amount of water to make a paste and use it to brush your teeth, giving special attention to the gum line. Do this at least once or twice a week and see the difference!

Dental Sealants

February 23rd, 2008

Put sealants on teeth. Dental sealants are thin, plastic films painted on chewing surfaces of the back teeth that serve as a host to food debris and plaque build-up. They are highly effective in the prevention of tooth decay. In fact, research has shown that sealants actually stop cavities when placed on top of a slightly decayed tooth because it seals off the supply of nutrients to the bacteria that causes the cavity. Sealants are especially beneficial for children because their newly erupted, permanent teeth are most susceptible to cavities, however patients of all ages can benefit from dental sealants.

Did you know that sonic waves can remove plaque bacteria without actually having to touch it? Thanks to dental care technology, these sonic toothbrushes can sweep away plaque even in the hard to reach places through the motion of sound waves.

Sonic wave technology is very gentle on teeth, even on the sensitive ones. It is also proven effective in other problems such as gum disease, removing stains and shrinking periodontal pockets.
If you want to know more about choosing the right toothbrush for your daily dental needs, don’t be afraid to ask your dentist. Whatever the type of tooth brush you wish to use, be sure to use it at least twice a day.
