Dental Care for Your Pets
May 14th, 2008
Your pets can also develop periodontal disease which is an infection of the tissue that surrounds the teeth. At age 3, their teeth need to be brushed regularly. Studies show that 80% of all cats and 70% of all cats have symptoms of dental disease. Given proper dental care, your pets can live an additional five more years. Just like humans, when pets eat, some of the food particles are stuck in between their teeth. Plaque will start to form and if not treated they can also have gingivitis. The main purpose of cleaning their mouth and brushing their teeth is for your pets to have healthy gums.
